Done!

After many trials and tribulations, I finished! I'm even fairly pleased with the results on the sweater. The hat was an unofficial add-on, I dyed the roving, spun the yarn, and knit the hat during the Olympics as well. I still can't believe I finished a sweater in two weeks!

Getting there!

So I've been working on this sweater every day, yesterday I spent boatloads of time on it. I've frogged the sleeves because they were too long (I knew they would be, yet I continued to make them too long?!), I re-sewed the main bottom and top together (it was too tight), and I've taken two stabs at sewing one sleeve on (my first set in sleeve). So I guess I'm doing okay! This sweater has been many challenges for me, all wrapped into the big one of getting it done on time. I still have a way to go, but I figure I'll be done in about 2 or 3 days, depending on if my motivation hangs on! Here's Jessica...

Making progress!

First, I've added a few people to the blog! Thanks for joining Team Utah!

Finished the top half of the front and back and started on the top of the sleeves.
My balls of Leaf came today too! I hope the other two balls of Sangria are on their way too, and that they match what I've already got. Here are the colors, I think they will do just fine.

Gets me this

I'd have more, but I went to a 3-hour spinning class today, and when I got home that is all I wanted to do. So about an hour of spinning, got me this

I'd like to feel bad about neglecting my Olympic knitting, but man, spinning sure is enjoyable! Anyway, on the sweater. I am working on the top half, I've gotten to the armhole shaping on either the front or the back, they're both the same. I'm realizing that I could have probably just kept on going in the round. Oh well. I'm starting to feel a little worn down already, pretty sad as I've not been working at it too long even. Hopefully it will get better when I start working on one of the striped sections.

ARGH!

I don't know if I can wait a whole hour more!!!! I was thinking I could start at 12:00, but I see on Yarn Harlot's site that she says 2 pm. Sigh. I guess I'll keep working on my Jaywalker. At 2:00, I'll be helping my toddler to not be grumpy waking up from her nap! Oh well, I'll just get on it as soon as I can.

My project

So this is what I'm going to attempt. The Jessica sweater seen at Magknits, by Jennifer Thurston. I'm doing it in Knitpicks Andean Silk, in Sangria, Hyacinth, Leaf, and Cream. It'll be my third sweater, so that part is not a huge challenge. Getting it done in 16 days will be though! I've also not done picot edging before, and I really don't know how to slip stitch the hem, but I'm sure I'll figure that out by the time I need to do it. I'm so excited! I can hardly wait until tomorrow! Happy knitting!
